These are the minimum and recommended systems requirements for running the GoToTags NFC Encoder software:

  • Microsoft Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 1-; Windows XP is not supported
  • Microsoft .NET 4.6.1
  • A modern processor with at least dual cores or CPUs; both x86 and x64 are supported
  • At least 2GB of RAM; 4GB is recommended
  • Windows Microsoft Excel 2010/2013; Mac Excel, OpenOffice and Google Docs are not supported

Internet Access

The NFC Encoder software requires an internet connection in order to be fully functional. The software connects to Internet services for several reasons including billing, configuration data, checking for the latest version and sending anonymous data to Google Analytics. The software will work in a limited fashion while disconnected from the Internet for a period of 24 hrs.

The NFC Encoder software connects to the following domains on the Internet:

Network Security and Firewall Proxies

Some corporate networks have restrictions in place which limit the websites that can be connected to and/or use a firewall proxy. The NFC Encoder software attempts to use the default Internet Explorer proxy settings as defined in the GoToTags.Encoder.exe.config file. If your network has these restrictions in place you will need to work with your network administrator to resolve the issues. Additional information about these settings can be found on the Microsoft developer site.
